Skill Level:   Easy

Materials:

·      Yellow cotton yarn

·      5.0 mm (H-8) crochet hook

·      Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Abbreviations:  

ch = chain                        dc = double crochet

st(s) = stitch(es)               sc = single crochet

ss = slip stitch                  hdc = half double crochet

sk = skip                          

Instructions

CENTER

ROUND 1  magic circle, ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc 9 times. Ss to ch 2 to join.  (10 hdc)

ROUND 2 Ch 2, hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each st around. Ss to join. (20 hdc)

ROUND 3 Ch 2, 2 hdc in next, *hdc  in next, 2 hdc in next* repeat from*to* around. Ss to join. (30 hdc)

RAYS

Continuing after joining ss in ROUND 3

Ch 4, sc in 2^nd ch from hook, hdc, dc. Sk 1 st, ss in next. (The base of your ray should be 3 sts wide) ss in next. Continue around in this manner.  You will have 10 rays when done.  After last ss, fasten off and weave in ends.
