Sunshine Trivet Free Crochet Pattern





Sunshine Trivet

Materials Needed
·         Yellow cotton yarn
·         5.00 crochet hook
·         Yarn needle

ROUND 1  magic circle, ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc 9 times. Ss to ch 2 to join.  (10 hdc)
ROUND 2 Ch 2, hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each st around. Ss to join. (20 hdc)
ROUND 3 Ch 2, 2 hdc in next, *hdc  in next, 2 hdc in next* repeat from*to* around. Ss to join. (30 hdc)
ROUND 4  Ch 2, hdc in next , 2 hdc in next  *hdc in next 2, 2 hdc in next* repeat from *to* around. Ss to join. (40 hdc)
ROUND 5  Ch 2, hdc in next 2,  2 hdc in next *hdc in next 3, 2 hdc in next* repeat from *to* around.  Ss to join. (50 hdc)
ROUND 6  Ch 2, hdc in next 3, 2 hdc in next *hdc in next 4, 2 hdc in next* repeat from *to* around. Ss to join. (60 hdc)
ROUND 7  Ch 2, hdc in next 4, 2 hdc in next *hdc in next 5, 2 hdc in next* repeat from *to* around. Ss to join. (70 hdc)

RAYS
Continuing after joining ss in ROUND 7

LONG RAY  ch 13. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 2 chs, hdc in next 3, dc in next 3, tr in next 3.  Sk 3 sts, ss in 4th st from ch 13 space.  (The base of your “ray” should be 5 sts wide)

SHORT RAY Ss in next st, ch 9.  Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next ch, hdc in next 2, dc in next 2, tr in next 2.  Sk 3 sts, ss in 4th st from ch 12 space. (The base of your “ray” should be 5 sts wide)


Continue around, alternating between LONG RAY and SHORT RAY, finishing off with a SHORT RAY. You will have 14 in total. After last ss, fasten off and weave in ends. You may use fabric stiffener to help it lay flat, or simply wet it and lay it flat to dry.
